About HAODS
Horsham Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society (HAODS) is a charitable incorporated organisation (CIO) based in Horsham, West Sussex with the aim of advancing the education of the public in all aspects of the dramatic arts. Originally founded in 1954 as a members organisation, we became a charity in 2024 to better achieve our mission. We retain a vibrant membership of over a hundred people taking part both on and off-stage.
We stage two large musical productions a year, one in Spring and one in Autumn, usually at the Capitol theatre in Horsham (currently closed for refurbishment), as well as regular plays and other shows. Rehearsals for the larger shows are usually held at HAODS House on a Tuesday and Thursday evening and Sunday during the day (Sundays are usually only closer to a show). We also have our Junior section who perform their own show every year. Find out what we’re up to next here.
The fifth HAODS House, our current, temporary headquarters in Southwater has:
- Two large rehearsal spaces, both available for hire;
- Extensive costume, set and prop storage areas;
- Backstage working area;
- Meeting room (also available to hire);
- Relaxed seating area;
- Plentiful car parking.
We are currently searching for a new, permanent home, please get in touch if you might be able to help us.
